This is a new page and I am just starting to learn how to code html documents.
So please don't judge me too harshly yet.
When this page has been completed it will house all the information that I can currently
find on the subject of one of the greatest series ever produced for so many different
systems, Final Fantasy *. This page will only have information about the US versions of the Final Fantasy * games. There were many releases of this game in Japan that never made it to the US although some can be found translated and on emulators.
It All Began A Long Time Ago........
On A Long Forgotten System........
NES - The Nintendo Entertainment System *
Final Fantasy 1
Released in the US and Canada in 1987. This game was one of the first games to take a large number of players into a world of magic and monsters. A real world lived in by real people who's lives you interacted with and affected. One could argue that this first installment was truely one of the most memorable games that they ever played for the NES. For those of you who never got the chance to try out this game on the early NES I invite you to go out and try to get ahold of a NES and this game to see what started all the fuss. By today's standards this game may seem crude but isn't that always the way with greatness? Below you will find a few screen shots and a walkthrough for this first game, if you've never played it or even if you want to walk down memory lane a bit, feel free to click away.
Final Fantasy 2 was realeased in US in 1991 for the SNES. This game is not a sequel but in fact a new game consisting of new worlds and new lives to view. A much deeper story line is laced all through Final Fantasy 2 and better graphics don't hurt either. This game kept players guessing at the ending throughout it's entirety until the finale in which all doubts and fears are put to rest. I personally found this game to be my favorite all time game for the SNES with it's cousin a close second. If you have never played this game for the SNES I strongly urge you to go out and find it (if you can, I've been looking for a copy for 5 years now) and play it.
You will not regret this descision.
Final Fantasy 3, released 1994 also was for the SNES. Another great game in the long line of games put forth by Square*. This game also was not a sequel but in itself a new masterpiece. However this game introduced us to a new side of the Final Fantasy world in a little form called espers. Espers are the bodies of extinct beings who infuse magic into their owners. This was a nice touch to the already involving story and it helps the player change their characters entirely by switching espers around to keep learning new talents. Artifacts also came in to effect in this game as well. They act as special powers that are passed on to the wearer. Sprint Shoes were definitely appreciated by FF players, play it and you'll know what I mean :-). Below are links to assorted things related to these two games.
